Vista 64 uninstall virus and it still listed working in security c

I have tried 5 forms of virus programs and uninstalled them all but when I
open the security center and most are listed as working to protect my
computer even though I have uninstalled all traces of these programs.

Have exactly the same here. I have Bullguard, AVG and Avast all listed and
'working and up-to-date, yet only Avast is actually installed. Bullguard was
removed with a long online session with the manufacturers, so there is
absolutely no remnants of it on my computer. AVG was standard uninstall.

I have searched through the HD and Registry for anything at all remotely
resembling these and have found nothing. Must be a bug with Vista.
