| | Program trying to gain access to Outlook contacts I just installed Office 2003 on my new laptop with Vista Home Premium OS and installed a wireless network in my home. Every time I open Outlook I receive a notice from Windows Defender that a program is trying to access the email contacts I have stored and asks if I will grant permission. If I refuse I get a runtime error and Outlook closes. If I accept I get a notice that a new account has been found and needs to be imported. If I accept no new account is listed, if I refuse I can't check my email. Task manager shows no other programs running, MacAfee, Norton, and Windows security sweeps do not find anything malicious. No new accounts are listed. Any ideas? |

| | Re: Program trying to gain access to Outlook contacts Except that none of us has ever seen this message in Outlook and Windows Defender is throwing the message. Sounds like Windows Defender hasn't quite figured out how Outlook's Email Security update works or the user is using an add-in that needs to be updated: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup.htm -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Rock" <Rock@nospam.net> wrote in message news:uGUWEOpjHHA.5052@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > "kristofer@gpsinj" <kristofer@gpsinj@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote >>I just installed Office 2003 on my new laptop with Vista Home Premium OS >>and >> installed a wireless network in my home.
