windows or mcafee security center or both

Do I need to have Both Windows Security Center and McAfee Security Center
both running on my computer? I also have Vista Manager and Windows defender?
Are they all necessary? I am not real computer savy. Just get by. Easy
answers Please. I have windows vista, very new to me. Thank you for any help.

The Windows Security Center is just an alerter; it provides no security.
The McAfee Security Center is also just an alerter and takes over that
function from the Windows Security Center. You need an antivirus, a
firewall, and possibly an antispyware program. McAfee is the worst
choice, with Norton products right behind it. Recommendations:

1. Uninstall McAfee and install either NOD32, Kaspersky, or Avast (free)
for your antivirus.
2. Use the built-in Windows Firewall.
3. Use the built-in Windows Defender for antispyware.

You need to uninstall McAfee and not replace it with Norton.

Re: windows or mcafee security center or both

If you want an easier means of operating your computer, along with easy
answers, don't install McAfee Anything. Really, it will drive you crazy.
Just the thought of it gives me a headache, having worked on computers with
that behemoth installed.
