are there Viruses that work on Vista?

Hi,

Do any of the old viruses that affected XP work in Vista as well? Are there
any known new viruses that affect Vista yet ?

thanks

Yes and Yes. While Vista has made great strides on security, there isn't
anything super magic about it that stops it getting viruses.

If nothing else, the "platform neutral" e-mail based virus still works.

The virus goes something like this:

"Delete all of your files and then forward this message to all of your
friends."

Okay, so while that's deliberately meant to amuse, it underscores an
important point - as long as users can initiate processes that damage
things, viruses will be able to persuade users to initiate them, and thereby
cause damage.
