| Guest | dont have permission to delete folders/ programs I had some problems isntalling applications, so i needed to delete folders again but when i tried to do that a msg appears telling me that i dont have permissions to do that and the deleted file get restored into its default folder. (my OS is vista ultimate 32x (spanish) ive tired to trasnlate the msg) I noticed that this only happens if the program was opened this session before, its like if the file is opened somewhere at therefore cant be deleted, same happened to me while tryeing to patch programs if i the program got opened in some way after the installation the patch would tell me that the file is being used by another program an therefore i cant be patched. So only solution is to rebot the system which is really anoyeing me to do after almost each install of each program, there are even some patch that need to run the program inorder to patch them so its impossible to patch them bcs i get the "is being used by another program msg" Bcs of that im thinking its a security issue sth is blocking me from modifiying programs..... any ideas? thx |

| Guest | RE: dont have permission to delete folders/ programs If the message tells you that you cannot delete the file because it is open by another process, then that is exactly the problem. Some program fails to properly close the file. You may need to reboot, but at least log out, to delete the file. If that is the message it is not a security problem. --- Your question may already be answered in Windows Vista Security: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/047...otectyourwi-20 "math" wrote: > I had some problems isntalling applications, so i needed to delete folders > again but when i tried to do that a msg appears telling me that i dont have > permissions to do that and the deleted file get restored into its default > folder.
