Vista Tutorial - Need to fix System Volume Information

Long story, I ended up resetting SVI's permissions to general access. I tried
setting them back to only the SYSTEM account, first the folder then its
individual files but I just can't get the old permissions back without
getting an ACCESS DENIED error everytime I try to make a restore point.

Furthermore, I have some rather large restore point files on another of my
drives, possibly from an older Windows install, and even though I have no
System Restore running for the drive and even though I took ownership of the
files and the folder I still can't delete them.

I tried stopping Volume Shadow Copy, Indexing and that
Linking-what's-it-called service but I still can't delete them. Can anyone
please tell me how to delete the SVI folders? It'd free up alot of space plus
I see no other way of resetting their permissions except having them erased
and Windows recreate them...

Make sure you are logged on as an Administrator. Right click on the SVI
folder. Goto security tab. Click advanced. it will open another page. on the
new page, goto the owner tab, goto the bottom of the page, and click edit.
change the owner of the page to you. before clicking apply, check the box
that says something to the effect of "change this property on subfolders and
items". then click apply. it will say "if you have just taken ownership of
this item, you will need to close the property windows to reflect the
changes." Then close the windows. right click SVI again and goto security,
click advanced, click edit on the first window. click add, click advanced,
click find now, and, while holding control, click your username, and the
"System" group. then click "OK", set both the system group and your username
to have full control. then, once you have done that, click ok on the editing
window, then the advanced window, then the properties window. that should do
it.

Thanks for first professional advise I found for this subject.
This works for all the other folders as well not only the SVI.
