Security setting in Vista keeping laptop from connecting??

Bought a new Acer 3680 laptop with vista hoome. Damn thing sees the router
but will not connect to it. Router is set up as default - no security
settings, and IS broadcasting it's SSID.

Thing is, 2 other laptops in the house, including an Acer 5610 witl Vista
Premium, all worked first crack out of the box.

Router is a D Link DI-514

My sense is this has to be a security setting on the 3680.

Help

Bill

It could be a configuration issue with the wireless NIC.
It could be a mis-configuration between the wireless NIC and router.
The wireless NIC could be defective is some way.

I don't think Vista has anything to do with it with some kind of security
setting with Vista and a wireless connection between the wireless NIC and
the wireless AP router.

alt.internet.wireless is a NG you can post too as well.

You might want to post to the
microsoft.public.windows.vista.networking_sharing newsgroup
