Re: Windows update error 8024402C

Hi Rahul,

This error can be caused by improper Proxy configuration.
Can you check your proxy settings?
Also check your host file to see if there is no static IP address assigned
to Microsoft update servers.

Thanks,

Re: Windows update error 8024402C

hi,
thanks for your reply ...
I have checked ... there is no issue with proxy config ..
but there is no static IP address assigned to Microsoft update servers
have I to put ms update server entries in my host file where proxy resides?
how and why to do this?

Rahul

Re: Windows update error 8024402C

I was SO frustrated with this.. but, ok here's my fix/work-around to Vista error 8024402C
This is a proxy error right? So, after thinking about it I went to a free proxy list - I used Proxy 4 Free - Public Proxy Servers, Anonymous Proxy, Proxy List - Protect Your Online Privacy! and found one thet worked.. Proxy server 209.55.33.101 using port 80
Set my LAN Connections, in Explorer to that proxy and Microsoft update WORKED. *curtsey* You're welcome!!
