Web Cam & Firewall

When starting my web Cam I get a message saying "Web Cam can not start
because I'm behind a firewall. I have turned off the windows fire wall and it
still says the same thing. I"m running the Mcafee Security program and
firewall remains on all the time. Do I need to turn it off too to make my Web
Cam work? How do I turn it off and will my computer not be protected at all
because I have turned off the 2 firewalls.

Re: Web Cam & Firewall

You need to check the documentation for your Web Cam to see what port(s) it
requires, and configure the proper permission in your firewall. Turning it
off is not the solution.

Re: Web Cam & Firewall

You definetely aren't expected to turn off the firewall. You should
learn what sort of traffic you should pass, or how to configure
a web camera.
