Error in Windows Vista Defender cant change anything in Defender!

Everytime i try to download something it gets delited by Defender, and when i
try to change settings in defender it says.

A error happend in Windows defender:0x800700c1. %1 is not a valid
Win32-program.

cant download anything from internet and cant change settings. what shall i
do?

Hello,

what will happen if you stop the Windows Defender service?
Control Panel\System and Maintenance\Administrative Tools -> Services ->
Double-click "Windows Defender" -> Stop
