Bitlocker and TPM

Hi All,
I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 and apperently it does not have a TPM chip.
Does anyone know how to install Bitlocker without that feature?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Gary

RE: Bitlocker and TPM

This article is mostly about a different problem that you can now solve with
the Bitlocker Disk Preparation Tool, but it also shows how to enable
BitLocker in the absence of a TPM:

Yes, you can use a usb key to authenticate at boot.
But your BIOS needs to support reading usb devices at boot.
It's very easy to do & find instructions on google.

Re: Bitlocker and TPM

Gary - just fyi that I have an I9400 and Bitlocker works fine on it (once you
make the local security policy change as per the Bitlocker doco to allow it to
work without TPM)
