| | MMC Console Questions I just build a new machine and installed Home Premium. I use to have an older machine with XP Pro. There were some snap-ins that seem to be not in the Home Premium version. I want to be able to control certain things like locking the system out when passwords fail after 3 attempts, and clearing page files on exit. Would these snap in only be in the Ultimate version? |

| | Re: MMC Console Questions Anthony Yes, the Vista Home Premium is still a "home" version, similar to XP Home. The normal upgrade path from XP Pro is to go to Vista Business or Vista Ultimate. Many of the changes that are possible using the Group Policy Editor (GPEdit.msc), and Security Policy Editor (secpol.msc) can be implemented in Vista Home Premium using direct registry edits. There is a document that describes all of the Group Policy settings and their associated registry locations in the Group Policy Editor reference that can be downloaded here: Download details: Group Policy Settings Reference: http://tinyurl.com/fmxvo There is also very good information here: Windows Vista: Management and Operations: http://tinyurl.com/2ofbca -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "Anthony Lisanti" <ajlisanti@optonline.net> wrote in message news:as7n83dauv489pjbvra49t0eos6dkuqasv@4ax.com... > > > > > I just build a new machine and installed Home Premium.
