| | New Critical Patches for Vista..? I've found three Updates that my cpu says i need. One i need just by reading the description and the other involves Excel, which I don't have(i guess) and the other is for Network IT stuff which again i don't use(i guess). I have an HP media cpu and the Vista Home Premium. Is Vista already showing security frailties? Or has my local media homepage still dealing with XP users that haven't done the automatic update-thang + TrendMicro & SpySweeper. Whazzup wit dis my peoples? |

| | Re: New Critical Patches for Vista..? Vista had patches in January when it was released. I hope you have patched it before this. You prob have the trial version of Excel or the Excel reader. | | Re: New Critical Patches for Vista..? Well. Lemme kick the proverbial ballistics in regards a me security. Didn't like One Live, don't likethe other MS..Defender that's it. With the purchase of my HP media cpu I've got Trend Micro and Webroot SpySweeper free for a year. They (especially TM) are fairly regularly "updating" my machine. I do periodically go to the hidden installs to see if A.) compat. w Vista B.) compat. w/ the user(me). While I've got u sorta. My adobe reader is "jacked-up". 8.1 came out and I remember supposedly upgrading/installing but everytime it needs to be accessed I get some pdf note and the new Vista "prompter" tells me that 8.1 is not working and after much querying i'm still w/o reader....Uninstall/reInstall right?! Hypothetically say that didn't fix the problema..Then what? Thanx for putting up w/ my lay"person"ness re:Cpu language+knowledge.
