Security Alerts

Windows LIve One Care is telling me to update the virus and spyware
definitions, but when I try to do so it says a required update could not be
downloaded to my computer. I don't know what to do to fix this. I have tried
restarting and it didn't help.

Re: Security Alerts

You should post this to one of the Live OneCare groups.

RE: Security Alerts

Sounds like you don't have a fully compatible anti-virus or spyware. You
might want to see if there is a Vista upgrade to whatever software you are
running first.

It is most likely a permissions issue. One thing I would try (if all else
failed) is to shut down the antivirus or spyware application and right click
it to select "run as admin". You will need to enter the admin password. FRom
there I would suspect that you could update the signatures.
This is not a solution, since you really shouldn't have to do this. Good luck.
