| Guest | Difference in default Security settings across Vista Editions 2 UAC Settings have been documented on their Explain tabs on Ultimate Edition as follows : 1. UAC: Behaviour of the elevation prompt for standard users Default: Prompt for credentials (home) / Automatically deny elevation requests (enterprise) 2. User Account Control: Detect application installations and prompt for elevation Default: Enabled (home) / Disabled (enterprise) Please direct me to where I can get defaults for the other editions for the above UAC settings |

| Guest | Re: Difference in default Security settings across Vista Editions I'm gonna take a guess and say that text is wrong. I'm running Enterprise edition. I just checked these values, and they are set to the same as claimed for Home. Safe to think then that these are the defaults in all editions. I'll follow up with the authors and try to get the text fixed. | Guest | Re: Difference in default Security settings across Vista Editions Hi Steve, 'Enterprise' and 'Home' in those contexts refers to the environment, ie a business/corporate situation, or a home use situation, not the Vista edition. Perhaps that should be clarified so as not to confuse people? -- Jane, not plain 64 bit enabled :-)Batteries not included. | Guest | Re: Difference in default Security settings across Vista Editions Could be. That's why I plan to speak with the person responsible for maintaining the textual content. It needs to be clearer. | Guest | Re: Difference in default Security settings across Vista Editions Thanks for the help. I'm not sure know how this works - if the defaults as documented are based on a machine's environment(home/enterprise) , what criteria does Vista use to detect the environment it is currently in . i.e home or enterprise & then apply defaults?
