Windows Defender issue. Security centre - please read. different i

I am experiencing the same problem as many with regards to security centre
and defender. I try and switch it on and it searches for new definitions,
returning nothing and reverts back to asking for it to be switched on.

I have avast installed. When i first had vista installed the person doing it
for me installed the trail of one care. I didn't want to purchase it and it
took a bit of searching to find the one care removal tool which i used.

I have tried the cmd as admin, i have checked the folder in windows where
the is a folder, Repository.old (think it was from a previous attempt. I have
also tried winmgmt /verifyrepository and i get verification failed. Error
Code: 0x80041003.

PLEASE HELP

ensure if your windows defender service is set to automatic. if u dont want
the security centre, set its service status to disabled. reboot and check it
the problems stl there.
