Vista - HELP!!!!!!!!!!! Unlocking the "Lock" on vista

I'm new to vista... and see there is a lock function (son found it when
accessing the Task Management) and he accidently hit lock... my question is..
how do you unlock it? or will it reset when I shut down the computer? I
assume I need to use my password to get back into my user (its password
protected)??? I'm not sure whether to shut down the computer incase I can
never get back in again... lol..

You can just click on your user picture on the lock screen or enter your
password to login again.

It's basically designed so if you're stepping away from your machine for a
few minutes you can lock the machine to prevent somebody else from snooping
around on your desktop, then when back login again. In fact it works the
same as the 'switch user' feature, in that it keeps you logged onto the
system, but requires you to click your user picture or enter a password to
show your desktop.

He more than likely fat-fingered the Windows+L key combination. I use that
every evening to lock access to my system. Alternately he selected "lock"
from the Start menu.

Like Pul said, select your icon or login name and log in.
