UAC blanks screen completely - totally black

Whenever I run something that has the little shield icon on it or a
command like MSConfig, the UAC beep sounds and then my screen goes
completely black. I cannot see anything. My computer has not locked -
if I press Enter, it returns me to wherever I was previously.

This has not always happened - just started happening recently. I have
not installed any devices, drivers, or apps recently though.

I really can't believe Microsoft would allow UAC to glitch so badly. I
probably will just end up turning it off.

You have an nVidia graphics card? Their drives are known to cause this
sort of thing.

Re: UAC blanks screen completely - totally black

I have/had the same problem on my Dell with nvidia. Get TweakUAC, set it on
the middle (2nd) setting, and you will never see those black screens again,
as long as you were an administrator on the machine to begin with.
