| | RE: Windows defender error 0x80240018 I have been getting the same error for 2 days now and have not figured out why yet, even though I've searched everything or place I can think of. Adding this maybe someone out there can resolve this . I'm sure it's happening to more people than just the two of us. Any help at all would be gratful for your input. | | Re: Windows defender error 0x80240018 I get the failure to update error as well but mine is: Windows Defender was unable to complete the update: 0x80070422. The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. It ran fine for a week, then this. The service is started and I can stop, start or restart it without problems according to the Services applet. I dont see anything Windows Defender related in the event log when filtering on Critical, Error or Warning. Anyone else?
