Windows Vista - Data Execution Prevention

My home PC is equipped with Intel Pentium D CPU 2.80GHz and Windows Vista
Home Basic edition.

I have the following problems on verifying the installation of Java 6 Update
2 by Internet Explorer (IE):

(1) When the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is enabled, IE will stop
working and restart. There is a pop-up message "To help security, DEP has
stopped IE". I have tried to put IE and Java Platform SE Binary into "Turn
On DEP for All Programs and Services Except" dialog box, but the verification
still fails.

(2) When DEP is disabled after applying bcdedit.exe at the command prompt,
IE works smoothly and the verification passes.

How to configure DEP if Java 6 Update 2 is DEP-compatible? If not, should I
leave DEP as disabled and I cannot use the security feature.?

I appreciate it much if anyone, who has encountered such problem, will let
me have the technical advice.
