Access Denied when trying to delete virus file

Running Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit) using account with full
administrator priviledges. My virus checker reports a "malware" which it
identifies as "Generic.Peed.Eml.C6634DD4" at
C:\Users\Ian\AppData\Local\Temp\eud54.htm.

When I try to delete this file, I get a pop-up headed "Destination Folder
Access Denied" saying "You need to confirm this operation". Pressing
"Continue" briefly produced a pop-up headed "Calculating time remaining" but
this is quickly replaced by the "Destination Folder Access Denied" pop-up.
This time the only options are "Try Again", which repeats the same failure,
and "Cancel".

If I right-click eud54.htm and select "Properties", "Securities" and
"Continue" to get the "Advanced Security Settings for eud54.htm" panel, it
tells me "You do not have permission to view this object's security
properties" and "Unable to display current owner".

If I try to take ownership, I get a pop-up headed "Windows Security" saying
"Unable to set new owner on eud54.htm. Access is denied".

So how can I delete this virus file?

Hi,
Start the SO in safe mode, do it.
If you still have no access to the file try changing the owner with the
subinacl.exe util
Hope it helps

Re: Access Denied when trying to delete virus file

Thanks Arnold, Safe Mode has solved the problem, allowing the delete without
any fuss (no need to try subinacl).
Many thanks.
