| | RE: widows defender You could try this: Right-click Command Prompt (in Start Menu\Programs\Accessories) and choose Run as Administrator. Type (or Copy and Paste) the following commªnd: winmgmt /verifyrepository Press Enter. If the system returns "WMI repository is not consistent", type this commªnd: winmgmt /salvagerepository Press Enter. The first time you run this it will fail. (It will issue stop commands to the services causing it to fail, saying, "A stop control has been sent to a service that other running services are dependent on"). It might take a couple minutes for the services to shut dºwn. Run the last command again. You may have to run it 3 times before it finally runs and completes on its ºwn. -- "R.j" wrote: Quote: > Been at this now for the last 4 hours problem how do i permit AVG and have my > security centre recognise it windows secuity centre says not monitored i > installed avg because its recomended and when i check my security centre it > says the following virus protection Not Monitored > Spyware and other malware not monitored > when i click monitor now i get windows defender is turned off > these programs are running fine on my pc just the red icon in the system > tray wont F.off |

| | RE: widows defender I have the same problem, but instead of having AVG, I installed avast!. For a few weeks it worked fine. But now in security center appears that i dont have an anti virus and windows defender appears to be off and if I try to tur on windows defenders all it does is check for updates. I tried the solution you posted but the problem it still there.
