Acrobat Distiller Error with Acrobat 8.1 and Vista

I was directed here by the Adobe forums due to the problem appearing to be a
Vista permissions problem.

When I did an install of Adobe Acrobat 8.1 Standard on my Vista laptop
(Vista Business 32 bit), I began recieving an error pop-up when I boot into
Windows.

Acrobat Distiller

Unable to create the temporary folder.
Error: 5 - Access is denied.

I am logged in as a Domain admin and have local admin rights to the system
and I am running UAC. There are no pops made to the event logs regarding
this. I have checked the system temp file location and I have full access to
the folder.

I have re-installed Acrobat and it has not fixed the problem. The laptop is
running with all Vista updates via WSUS and all drivers up to date via Dell's
site. It is also running Office Pro 2007. All other programs have installed
fine.

Any ideas will be helpful. Thanks

Hello, UAC will cause the application to launch as a standard user, so
although your account may have administrative privileges, it will need to
elevate to create the temporary folder (I assume it's being created
somewhere it shouldn't be, like in Program Files).

To get around this launch Acrobat Distiller with administrative rights once,
by right-clicking and selecting Run as administrator. You should then get
the UAC prompt asking for elevation.

Once its created the temporary folder, it will probably be easiest to change
the security permissions on the temp folder so it is writable by the users
group. Alternatively if you know where it is trying to create the temp
folder, you could create it manually and set the permissions.

Hope that helps!
