Mcafee compatibility issues

I just got a laptop with windows vista ultimate and i tried to install Mcafee
internet
security center, special edition from AOL and it gives me a message that
says this version of windows is not compatible with this when the download is
almost complete. I already tried turning off the windows security center
firewall and uninstalled my norton free trial but it still doesn't work. It
worked fine on the other laptop with windows vista home premium.

You have inadvertently saved yourself from making a mistake. Norton and
McAfee are the worst "security" programs you could possibly put on any
of your computers. McAfee in particular has shown itself many times to
not really be compatible with Vista (although it is dreadful on XP, too)
and causes more problems than it solves.

Do not install all the AOL security cr*p. Recommended antivirus programs
are NOD32, Kaspersky, and Avast if you want a free one. The built-in
Windows Firewall is adequate for most people. Vista has Windows Defender
running in the background for spyware protection.
