| | Error 0x80501001 in Hi I wanted to know what the error 0x80501001 is and why is it when I go to remove something that Windows defender detects that I get this message with the following error. I then rescan (did that at least 3 times) like it suggested and yet it doesn't get rid of the file. Would quarentine be a better option that remove all? Please help! |

| | RE: Error 0x80501001 in 0x80501001 is an internal error code that just means the action failed. It could fail for a number of reasons, including the threat being inside an archive, the file being held open by something, or other reasons. Quarantine may not work either. --- Your question may already be answered in Windows Vista Security: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/047...otectyourwi-20 "fairyreveries" wrote: Quote: > Hi I wanted to know what the error 0x80501001 is and why is it when I go to > remove something that Windows defender detects that I get this message with > the following error. | | RE: Error 0x80501001 in Sure this is what I did: Clear the checkbox for "Scan inside archives" in the General Settings section under the Tools menu. This helped out a lot.
