| | Changed the security settings, cannot access my files anymore PLEASE HELP!!! I'm sitting by a computer at work, where I am the principal user, but others have access to the computer as well (different logins on the office network). To stop people from getting access to my files, I changed the security settings so the one could read and write the files only if they are logged in with my name and password. Guess what! Now I can't access my own files anymore!!!! Some of the files I can get to by changing the security settings for that specific folder or file, but some refuse access completely and I have thereby lost valuable files. Today I tried restoring the system to a date before this change, but I get a message that the restoration is unsuccessful and thereby nothing is changed. I'm guessing that this is related to the security problem. On top of that, now I've lost my connection with the network at the office! Isn't that great??? Would be extremely greatful for any tip! Regards M |
