Vista - windows live messenger not conecting

Hi
I have just finished my wifes computer but iam having a problem with windows live messenger it will not connect i now it is not my router as 2 other computers are working fine.
Every time i do the basic internet connectivity test every item has a tick next to it but one the IE's offline settings and if i press repair it still comes back unticked.

also i cant get aol to load up it get as far as stage 3 to sign on but hangs there for a couple of minutes then say is cant connect iam guessing the 2 are linked some how

also internet explorer work fine

the error code that comes up is 81000306

sorted i did a google search on the error code i had to disable the Auto Tuning Networking feature and it loged on straight away and aol now works
