| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Live Mail (set associations control panel) problems I just installed Windows Live Mail and am having problems with any .pps attached files to e-mails. When double clicking on the attachment I receive an error message stating that the file does not have a program associated with it. It states that I need to create an association in the Set Associations control panel. I can download these files to my desktop and open them fine. I have checked the default programs in the control panel and the association between a .pps file and powerpoint already exist. I never had this problem in Outlook or Outlook Express. What gives? |

| Windows 7 x64 (7229) | Re: Live Mail (set associations control panel) problems I had this same problem. You probably have Power Point Viewer 2007 installed. If not, you can get it free from Microsoft. You could save the file to wherever you would like, open Power Point Viewer and the interface of that program lets you choose the file you want to view. Just choose the file you downloaded and it should work fine. I hope this helps. |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Live Mail (set associations control panel) problems I know that I can save the attachment and open it, another extra step that was not needed in Outlook! |

| Windows 7 x64 (7229) | Re: Live Mail (set associations control panel) problems I know. Windows Live is free. Office is not. I just thought that would help. Unless you get Office....you're stuck with doing it that way. (i think) I can't figure out any other way. Good luck. |
