Vista - Windows live installer problem: hr:0x80070643

Hey all, i recently tried to update my windows live messenger when i was prompted too during sign in, but the windows live installer wont work, it keeps saying the following:


Messenger couldn't be installed because we had trouble installing this requirement:

Microsoft visual Studio runtime
An error occurred during the instillation of assembly
'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,publicKeyToken="1fcc8b
Please refer to help and support for More information
Please close all other programs and try again. it looks like another program is preventing the installer from working. hr:0x80070643

I've looked everywhere for a solve to this problem, i also foolishly un-installed the old messenger, and im struggeling to even get that back, i've clicked on help and support but shows nothing.

I've tried downloading Microsoft visual studio runtime and installed it, still the same problem persists, i have also re-downloaded and rebooted countless times.

Error 0X80070643 is a windows update error. I believe it has to do with a add-in for
VS or office or outlook. You can find imformation and help in the link below.
