Hand drawing in Windows Live Messenger

I've been experiencing problem with hand drawing in Windows Live Messenger on my new PC with Vista Home Premium 64x.

It's like there is a limit to how much I can draw; if I draw too many lines or possibly take more than like 10 seconds, it won't send it. It simply tells me that the drawing could not be send.

I normally use a tablet to draw, not only because it's easier but also because Vista can utilize pen pressure. I'm not 100% sure, but I only think the problem occours when I use a tablet. However, I've used another Vista computer before without this problem, although with an older version of WLM. I think it was 32-bit too.

EDIT: I'm using the latest version

Re: Hand drawing in Windows Live Messenger

As I thought, it did nothing to help. Out of the just 10 available features enabled for the current version, none of them had anything to do with hand drawing.

Re: Hand drawing in Windows Live Messenger

I know it’s a generic fix, but have you tried just installing and uninstalling the program to see if that changes anything?

Have you updated your tablet drivers or fiddled with the settings in control panel?

How fast is your internet?

Fastboy42 has a good point. What's your internet connection speed like? The handwriting/drawing feature can be a drag on your bandwidth and may be causing these hiccups.

Re: Hand drawing in Windows Live Messenger

I've never experienced anything like it on my current connection. It's 2up/˝down and very stable. As I described, I can pretty much draw anything I like with a mouse without any errors. The problem seems to lie in the pen pressure, and perhaps Vista's default support for tablet stuff...

I'm pretty sure I tried uninstalling/reinstalling WLM once, before I started searching for an answer. Either way I'll give it another try when I have the chance. As for the tablet driver itself, I checked any settings I could find without success. I've updated the driver, I'll post back when I've tested it again...
