Vista - How to make WLM as fast as TBird?

I have:
- 1 local ISP IMAP account (about 30 mails)
- 2 gmail IMAP accounts (both new, 3 welcome mails each)
- 1 hotmail (http in WLM, POP in TBird)

When I open WLM 2009 every morning, it processes mail for every folder in each account one-by-one (about 1 minute per account), so it takes about 4 minutes to complete. In comparison, Mozilla Thunderbird opens and completes whatever it does in about 5 seconds.

I see the same emails in both WLM and in TBird for the three non-hotmail accounts. I can read those emails in TBird the same as in WLM.

TBird only shows some of the "hotmail" email that WLM shows but that's because TBird only handles the hotmail inbox and not the rest of my hotmail folders. So forget the hotmail account for now.

This is on my WinXP Pro PC but WLM on my Vista 64bit laptop does the same thing.

Is there a way to make WLM complete opening as fast as TBird?
