| Vista Home Premium | Windows Live Mail font problem I don't really understand the way Live Mail handles fonts. I set Arial 10 as my standard font for sending HTML mail, and in Live Mail it seems to be working well. However, upon receiving this mail in another client (for example in Outlook, which I use for my work account), the font changes to Times New Roman or something similar. See these screenshots below: When sending this seems to work fine: ![]() However, upon receiving it looks like this: ![]() How come? |

| Vista Home Premium | Re: Windows Live Mail font problem Thanks for the reply. I don't really get it though - I'd expect if I send a HTML mail with a certain font, that font should appear in the receiver's mail client anyhow, no matter what it's view settings are? If not, what is the point in chosing a font for sending your mail? That does happen the other way around: if I send mail from my Outlook to Live Mail (or any other mail client), the font will always be whatever I picked when sending the mail. BTW, I use Outlook 2003, I cannot find where I could set this default font. I did one more test, this time with different fonts. The interesting thing is, that these different fonts all show up correctly in Outlook, except for Arial... Sent mail from Live: ![]() Received mail in Outlook: ![]() (thinking out this, it may be in the wrong forum, as this seems more of a problem in Outlook than in Live...) EDIT: I just found out it is defintately not a problem with Outlook, because in my webmail it also shows up as Times instead of Arial. However, when reading the same message in Thunderbird it does show up as Arial. Anyone? Last edited by Vertigo1981; 09-20-2009 at 05:05 PM.. |
