My Windows Live Mail (Desktop Platform), is not synchronizing with my windows live contacts (hotmail account). It was working previously. Are there any settings that I may have inadvertantly changed? Does the synchronization of Windows Live Contacts fail or go down from time to time?

I have windows messenger version 2009, and Windows Live Mail installed on my computer. Shouldn't they automatically sync with windows live on the web?

Also, does the synchronization run both ways?, i.e., contacts will update on the desktop or the web regardless of where that information is entered?

To be clear, I am not referring to Vista Contacts. I am already aware that Vista Contacts do not sync with Windows Live.

In order for my contacts to synchronize I needed to log off messenger and windows live. Everything synchronized when I logged on again.

This isn't really a good example of "Live"

Depending on what you mean by the word "Live"

The only way it can properly Sync your contacts is for you to log off, because thats when it saves your settings to the server, and then they are downloaded to WL Mail.

Seriously?

Having the same issue at the moment but only for Contacts! When adding an appointment to the Live Calendar it will be synced automatically to Live Mail Desktop (Win32) ... Why should this not work for contacts too without log-off-log-on!?

In my case I am not logged in to Messenger but IE7 is always (automatically) logged into Live.com but I only using Firefox for browsing (even for Live.com)

So what else can I do if contacts are not being synced between Live.com (Hotmail) and Windows Live Mail (Win32) - appointment / e-mails are synced well.
