Whenever I use messenger, it always shows me offline, and shows all my friends offline. I have tried the Email version, and the downloaded version. I have also tried many different emails. I have no clue what's going on. It's been like this for months.

Can you please run "Remove CCntctDb.reg" on your computer
and then try to log on to MSN.
If it doesn't help, you can restore the values ​​with "Restore CCntctDb.reg".

The first part didn't seem to work. I couldn't do the second part since it says go to the 'Tools' menu, which I do not see.

Michael, do you use Hotmail ?
If so, try to login via the Messenger option, located directly under your browser tabs bar in Hotmail, please use Internet Explorer.
Check what your status is, and the status of your contacts.
