Live Messenger 8.5 update - New Build

Hi everyone,

Windows Live Messenger 8.5 Beta (Build 8.5.1235.0517) has been updated to (Build 8.5.1238.0601). This has been done through Windows Update in Vista. Or you can download it from Live's site:

http://get.live.com/betas/messenger_betas

If you were using A-Patch with the first 8.5 Beta build (above), you will need to download a updated version of it to work with the newer second build (above). Here's the link:

Regards,
Shawn

Just for those that want to know, the original 8.5 MSN Plus! works fine after the update.

Re: Live Messenger 8.5 update - New Build

Hi Adam,

What is the difference in the original 8.5 MSN Plus! and the newer Messenger Plus! Live 4.23.276? If these are the same program? If not, please post a link. That's what I get when I Google MSN Plus.

Thank you,
Shawn

Hi Shawn,

The link you quoted contains the Messenger Plus! Live for Windows Live Messenger 8.5 that I used before the update, it works after the update as well. I just got the name of it confused.

Re: Live Messenger 8.5 update - New Build

The installaion is freezing or the messenger(after its installed) ?

The installation is very slow,so it may seem that it is stuck but it actually isnt.
So if it takes time just let it ,dont fiddle around too much when the setup is running(hoope u understand wht im trying to say ..hehe )

If its the application then i do not have much idea y tht mite be happening,if ur using a firewall make sure it is compatible and appropriate rules r set for WLM.
Also since its a BETA freezes and crashes are bound to happen but i am using it currently and its working Smoothly,no issues.

Hi ZeroMaster,

Check your firewall settings like Asky suggests and make sure that Windows Live Messenger is on your firewall exceptions list. If you are using Windows Firewall, see this for how.

Also, take a look here to test if you have a TCP/IP Auto Tuning issue.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
