Re: Windows Live Suite Downloads

Hi brink,
Thanks for posting the links to separate installers,.msi files, howeveversince they were
posted somewher around april,so these links are for beta version of the Live range of the
windows products, but now the Live products range is out finally,so if you could spare the
trouble of posting the links to new files then it would be great especially for Windows Live
Photos Gallery and Windows Live Mail, also the files are posted at skydrive and it doesn't
support resume, so for DialUp users like us to download ~10MB files in one go is pretty
tough, hence if you could post the links for a site that supports resume it would be really
great.
I tried to download the Live Photogallery using Windows Live Installer package-WLInstaller.exe, however it takes a huge amount of time and gets stuck at 99% downloaded even after an hour or so and the installation doesn't progress any further
WLPhotoGallery--Instalr.bmp - Windows Live SkyDrive beta
so I had to abandon hopes of installing it that way, but one thing that I noticed is that there were no files downloade in the usual D:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp\ folder where so many other application are downloaded, so I wanted to know to which directory
are the files downloaded in the case of installing with Live Installer, before they are installed and deleted,so that one may save them for future purposes and install them without needing to connect to net to download the files again.
Hope you will find time to reply to this post.
Cheers

Re: Windows Live Suite Downloads

Hi Anoblis 911,

Welcome to the forum.

These versions are current as of the date 11/06/2007 when the links were posted.

I do not know of a site that supports download resume.

You might try downloading one at a time durring non-peak hours, or if you have friend with broadband or DSL, you can download the separate installers and put it on a DVD.
I know how bad dial-up can be, sorry.

When installed from the Windows Live Installer, the MSI installer files will be located on your hard drive at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\WindowsLiveInstaller\MsiSources

Not sure in Windows XP SP2, you can search the whole drive for *.MSI to locate them.

I hope you will be able to download them with success.

Re: Windows Live Suite Downloads

Hi brink,
Thanks for replying,I will check out the location you gave me but I wanted to know are the .msi files deleted as soon as installed or do the remain in that location?
As you said about the links were latest,I wanted to know whether you have modified them or did the Live range came out of Beta when you posted them because the post date shows somewhere around april, and Live Mail was still Beta as far as I know cant say about Live Photo gallery though.
About the Resume part at present Skydrive doesn't support that feature but the MS support guys told that its on their menu but couldn't provide any dates,God knows if and when they will have it,well there are a few sites,at present I can give you one though:- YourFileHost.com - Free hosting for ALL your files
This is anonymous so you dont need to create an account even,I'll give other ones if remember.
In any case, thanks mate, for replying, its not your fault that I have dialup but unfortunately that is the harsh truth I have t bear with at least for now
Cheers.

Re: Windows Live Suite Downloads

Anobis,

If you install them from the Windows Live Installer, the MSI files will remain there unless you manually delete them.

I'm not sure where you see April as the post date. When I look at them from Skydrive, it has the Last Modified date of 11/06/2006 on the files when the pointer hovers over them. I did verify the versions listed for each download above, and they are the most current released versions. I try to check them every so often for any updates. I did have a update for the leaked beta of Windows Live Messenger 9 in the Beta area.

I'll see what I can do to have downloads that support the Resume for you. If nothing else, I'll use the link you provided. I'll update this when I have them available.

Re: Windows Live Suite Downloads

Ok Anobis,

I changed the links out for a direct download from our server on Vistax64.com. This way I can make sure that the downloads are up to date easier.

I do not know if it supports Resume or not, but you might give it a try and see how it downloads for you on dial-up.

Anobis,

Ok, I sorted the problem out. I logged off and tested the links as a non-member, and they will now download. For some reason the links switched back to a FTP instead of WWW address.
