Re: Why SP1 may not be available for you and how to get it

Already on the case, but this isnt just happening with the ASUS M2N-E Sli, its happening on a lot of systems with different hardware, the only 2 common items are 8000 series Nvidia graphics and Windows vista. Happens on more than just COD 4 too

Which Nvidia driver does Asus recommend for that board and video card? Did you try a earlier driver? Use add/remove the remove it and use the previous version.

Re: Why SP1 may not be available for you and how to get it

Actually Vista SP1 does a file integrity check before it installs. If you do not pass that check SP1 will NOT install. It's best to install Vista SP1 first thing after a reformat and BEFORE you get ANY of the Vista updates. SP1 installs most of the Vista updates anyway.

Suggest you guys with problems installing SP-1 do a file integrity check by pulling up the dos prompt as admin, type in sfc /scannow. This will check for missing system files and usually restore any missing sytem files, this should allow SP-1 to install for you.

Re: Why SP1 may not be available for you and how to get it

Hi nunae76 and welcome to Vista Forums

Before I start, a couple of points to note. Firstly, please do not hijack threads. If your topic has no relevance to the thread then start a new one. Secondly, DO NOT post your email address in your post for all to see - this will only lead to you being spammed and there have been occasions where the Admins/Moderators have had to edit a post to remove such addresses. Forum members who wish to reply to you personally can use the PM system available on the forums or, as I am doing, reply in the thread.
Back to your questions. Firstly, silverlight. This should be available for you and you can find a link to it on the main Microsoft Corporation webpage. Secondly, Flip-3D. This feature is NOT available in the basic versions of Vista. To have this feature, you will need to upgrade to either the Premium or Ultimate version.
