Vista - sp1 install problem

OK........ and what are you using??

ATI radeon x1200 series

If the onboard graphics are disabled they wont work!! just how are you disabling them

in device manager under the details for the graphics then disabling the device

Ok,
Now I am with you, what you are in fact doing is disabling the device driver.
If you left click on the little cross it will show you your graphic device the x1200, right click on the device and select properties, select the driver tab and let me know which driver version you have installed.
You may also have the option to roll back the driver if you haven't already done so, try this, if it doesn't help let me know what driver version is now installed

the version is 8.552.0.0, the option to roll back the driver is turned off

Ok try something new, do you have the catalyst control center installed?if so try uninstalling it along with the drivers

Then reinstall the drivers only
