| Vista Ultimate 32bit SP2 | Re: sp1 install problem It does sound like something related to the graphics. Still, what you may want to try is to run sfc /scannow from a command prompt as described elsewhere on this forum (search for this command). I too was unable to install SP1. After half a year, I set down and took the time necessary to fix it. What in the end made it, was to disable all functions of McAfee from within McAfee Security Center (turn on Vista Firewall first and make sure it does not warn for errors). My problems were not the same as yours, as my installation went all the way through but then reverted the installation. A couple of days after upgrading to SP1, I got problems with my graphics. This was resolved by re-installing the latest drivers. Though your installation problem appear different, it may be related to McAfee and Vista Firewall too. Disregard this - I missed you had finally got SP1 in... Last edited by Submarine; 11-16-2008 at 02:26 PM.. |

I have searched through the internet for compatible drivers, even been to microsoft and they have sent me back to the drivers that you are now using, they should work. ![]() I have searched through forums from ATI and found nothing. Have you tried the drivers from the ASUS site? ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- You have to give in your board details, It might be worth a last attempt Pooch |

| Vista Ultimatex64 Windows 7 build 7100 | Re: sp1 install problem Ok, I presumed that as it was working before sp1 that it would still work after. I look forwards to seeing what comes out of this. |

| Vista home basic, 32 bit | Re: sp1 install problem I run a 32 bit, home basic. But this should work. Start-msconfig-enter-continue- click services-check hide all microsoft services, click disable all- click ok. Restart your cp. Then install sp 1. To restore your cp to use a normal startup, repete steps 1, click normal startup, on the general tab, click ok. then restart your cp. It downloaded sp1 i a lot faster this way. Newbie. Good luck |
