| Vista Home Premium 32-bit & Vista Ultimate 64-bit both Service Pack 2 W7 Pro RTM 7600 32 & 64 | Re: sp1 install problem Hi throbinson and welcome to Vista Forums ![]() Are you trying to install SP1 via Windows Update? If you are, try installing it from the downloaded standalone version (link given below). You will need to save this to a DVD. Once you have done that, you should be able to install SP1 from this disc. Note that this may take a while to complete and you should allow it to do so at its own rate. Download details: Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Five Language Standalone for x64-based Systems (KB936330) |

The best time to install a service pack is on a fresh installation of Vista. It is possible that some aspect of your system is preventing the successful installation of SP1. In order that we can help you with this, please post back with full details of your system, together with the current driver versions that you are using for your hardware. |

| vista Home Premium x64 | Re: sp1 install problem Hi I've managed to get sp1 installed the same problem comes up with thick white lines over the screen. The problem is with the on board ATI x1200 graphics, when this is disabled everything works fine apart from noy having any sound. I've tried updating the drivers which doesnt work. I'm waiting for my geforce 8800gt to be returned from the warrenty hope this one will work ok. In the meantime anybody got any solutions about my lines on the screen? |

When you say "when this is disabled everything works fine" I presume you are talking about the driver and not the onboard graphics, if so; It can only be the driver |
