Hi, I just wanted to add that this update was for netframe work 3.5. I downloaded a program that required this. The program in question was not important. I was just wondering if there will be any ill effects caused by this failed update? Thanks for (any) replies.:(

Hi Larry,

Go to Control Panel, Check for Updates, and then click on Check for updates on the left (blue) Panel

I suggest this as on my system some updates fail but the installer keeps trying and eventually they all get installed, Not necessarily in the original order
How old is this update?

You say that the program for which you have installed netframe work was not important.

Did it not work? Have you uninstalled it?

As for ill effects I cant say for sure but if you are not having any problems then I would say no

Hope this helps

Just as an afterthought this update normally comes with KB948609 do you already have this?
If not it might be the reason.

Good Morning Pooch, It shows failed in updates but does not try to reinstall. After the failed update i removed the program that (called) for the framework to load and did a system restore. Also says no updates available. Yes it came with kb948609 which loaded fine. If a update fails does this mean nothing got loaded ?
Thanks for the help!

I would understand that nothing got loaded (you mean installed) anything is possible though,

With the rollback you have undone, so the updates should also no longer show up nor should framework at least that is how I understand it.

Have a nice day :)

Thanks Pooch, I have gone thru most of the tweeks from the tutorials. That's how i got it down to 5 bars. Maybe doing the restore and check disk has something to do with the slow boot now. I hope it was not the update that is causing the slow boot!

Dont forget that the system restore might also have undone some or all of the tweaks, It depends on how far back you have gone,

Like I said before the update should already be gone, if not you can try uninstalling it and Netframe work.

Let Ccleaner run as well that might also help.

If you only went back two hours and if Netframe work is still installed then yes the updates will still be there and if it says that no updates are available then I would accept this

autobond???? = Autobahn
If yes then where there are no speed restictions, ( a lot of stretches have some sort of speed restriction 120km/h for example) then yes you can drive as fast as your car can go, if of course traffic allows
Its best at night :)

To clarify when you do a system restore everything installed after the date that you go back to is gone/undone.
We have been talking with a crossed line as I automatically assumed that you went back further than two hours :)
As to why your compy is now slower on boot up I am unsure but as I suggested before it may be an option to uninstall Netframe work and the updates if you no longer require them have a look here;
Aaron Stebner's WebLog : How to uninstall the components of the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1,

Yup! It failed for me too but with Error code 800F0900.

and when I checked update history, I saw that Windows Updated tried to install it 3 times but all attempts failed!

After that, I tried to install .Net v3.5 SP1 which couldn't install, so I tried v3.5 which was installed correctly.

The strange thing is, even after successfully installing v3.5, I can't install v3.5 SP1 which is strange! It gives an error that .Net v2.0 SP1 and .Net v3.0 SP1 are not installed!

EDIT: contents of dd_dotnetfx35error.txt:
[01/02/09,14:10:18] Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0SP1 (CBS): [2] Error: Installation failed for component Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0SP1 (CBS). MSI returned error code -2146498304
[01/02/09,14:10:51] WapUI: [2] DepCheck indicates Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0SP1 (CBS) is not installed.

I tried searching for MSI error code but to no avail!

When I downloaded the setups for .Net v2.0 SP1 and v3.0 SP1 and tried to run them, they told me that Vista is not supported!!

Anyways, was just trying to get Vista ReadyBoost monitor to work since it required .Net v 3.0!

Thanks for your time!
