Re: Kb948610 failed

Hi, I just wanted to add that this update was for netframe work 3.5. I downloaded a program that required this. The program in question was not important. I was just wondering if there will be any ill effects caused by this failed update? Thanks for (any) replies.

Re: Kb948610 failed

Hi Larry,

Go to Control Panel, Check for Updates, and then click on Check for updates on the left (blue) Panel

I suggest this as on my system some updates fail but the installer keeps trying and eventually they all get installed, Not necessarily in the original order
How old is this update?

You say that the program for which you have installed netframe work was not important.

Did it not work? Have you uninstalled it?

As for ill effects I cant say for sure but if you are not having any problems then I would say no

Hope this helps

Re: Kb948610 failed

Just as an afterthought this update normally comes with KB948609 do you already have this?
If not it might be the reason.

Re: Kb948610 failed

Good Morning Pooch, It shows failed in updates but does not try to reinstall. After the failed update i removed the program that (called) for the framework to load and did a system restore. Also says no updates available. Yes it came with kb948609 which loaded fine. If a update fails does this mean nothing got loaded ?
Thanks for the help!

Re: Kb948610 failed

I would understand that nothing got loaded (you mean installed) anything is possible though,

With the rollback you have undone, so the updates should also no longer show up nor should framework at least that is how I understand it.

Have a nice day

Re: Kb948610 failed

Hi Larry,

Then I would suggest trying this program;
CCleaner - Home

And it might be worth while to have a look here;
Boot Up[11]=Performance%20Maintenance

The Tutorials are all very good and are worth a look.

Re: Kb948610 failed

Thanks Pooch, I have gone thru most of the tweeks from the tutorials. That's how i got it down to 5 bars. Maybe doing the restore and check disk has something to do with the slow boot now. I hope it was not the update that is causing the slow boot!

Re: Kb948610 failed

Dont forget that the system restore might also have undone some or all of the tweaks, It depends on how far back you have gone,

Like I said before the update should already be gone, if not you can try uninstalling it and Netframe work.

Let Ccleaner run as well that might also help.
