sp2 question

I have read some of the add ons that sp2 will have. One of which is bluetooth capabilities. My question is; If my pc does not have bluetooth will it have bluetooth when sp2 is released. Will I still need to buy a 3rd party device that will allow me to use bluetooth. I am having a hard time figuring this one out.

Hi bassfisher6522,

Support for Bluetooth is already available in Vista SP1, although SP2 may make this more configurable and accessible. For more details on Bluetooth, see: Bluetooth - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

WOW, that wiki explanation just left me with a big headache :(

I am hoping someone here can explain this in layman's terms since I also have a bluetooth headset I use for gaming and even though I am using my friend's software to run my dungle with Vista, I would like to be able to make it work w/o suffering everytime I try to use it.

Bluetooth is a similar technology to that currently used by wireless mice nd keyboards, with the exception that instead of each individual device requiring a USB dongle on your computer only one is required. Some dongles are able to use the built-in support that Vista provides, although some will need dedicated drivers. These usually come on a disk with the device, but I recommend that you visit the manufacturer's website and download the latest driver. It is expected that SP2 will improve Bluetooth support.

You will still need to have a bluetooth adapter in your compter for it to work even though you will be bluetooth capable.

Thanks Dwraf. Under computer requirements I got my answer. Apparently my computer does not have a built in bluetooth adapter that I know of. How would I find out for sure if it does of doesn't? If mine doesn't have built in bluetooth then I'll need to get an adapter for my desktop so it can communicate with my cell phone.
