new update kb9637067

Is there anyone out there that knows if this new update that just came across from microsoft that says IMPORTANT needs to be installed? It says it is the .NET framework 3.5 service pack 1 for the .NET framework asst. 1.0 x86...
First of all, I have updated to SP2 and I don't use firefox, so if someone can let me know if I really need to download this update I would appreciate it! I haven't even updated to IE8. I am still waiting for them to fix a few more things....I don't want to download this kb9637067 if it is going to cause me problems or I don't need it. I can just hide the darn thing....
Thanks for your help techies!!!

Re: new update kb9637067

Hello addiesanti,
I have found that if it say's it's important then it's best to have it.
As for IE8, dont believe all the horror story's you hear, i have not had any issues with it, thats not to say it's perfect but you can only speak as you find, and i find it to be ok.
Just my two bob's worth.
Hope this helps, good luck.

Re: new update kb9637067

Thanks for your reply, but is it ok to install this update if I upgraded to SP2? I understand about IE8, but the real problem I have is with HP printers? I have web printing now and they don't seem to have the ad-on updated, so when I install IE8, I loose the ability to clip and paste so I can just print what I want from web pages? I love this feature, and I don't want to loose it yet. If you have any updated information about this, I would appreciate it. I called HP and they told me that it was up to microsoft to post the updates for it???

Re: new update kb9637067

Yes it's ok to install . Windows update will create a system restore point so if there are any issues you will be able to restore your computer. If updates are marked important then they normaly fix security issues or the stability of the OS, and thats always a good thing imo.

IE8 really is a personal thing, if your happy with IE7 then i would stay with that.

Hope this help's.

FWIW - I am not installing the KB9637067 update on our laptops. [BTW, also quite happy with IE 7 too - at this stage.]

JMH - Why are you not going to install on your lap top?
I think I am going to give it a shot and see what happens. I am still holding off on IE8 though...

Personal choice. After reading the blurb about this "important" update I didn't see it as a "must have" for us at this point.

If you do go ahead & install it post back & let us know how it went. It shouldn't create any probs for you.

Update installed, no problem at all. It went really fast and the computer didn't even need to restart!
