Hello,

I have a 64x vista labtop (os) and today there was a 64x update. So I updated and bout 4mins or less blue screen, tested again, got blue screen. Did this multiple times. I decided to test if something just went wrong so I went into safe mode and uninstalled those 3 updates. No issues again. If anyone else is having this issue please feel free to say so :).

I have the exact same issues and am currently running in Safe Mode. How do I uninstall the three updates?

I am also getting a bluescreen after installing todays update :(
I had to do a rollback to start my 3 week old dell laptop back up.

I am having the exact same problem and did a system restore to get back to before the updates and everything is fine now. Hopefully there is a fix for this soon.

I received three patches after a 2 week or so break. One of them was for IE8. Even if you don't have to reboot after installing patches, do it anyway, preferably as soon as possible. No problems.

IMHO Good advice.

IMHO Good advice.

And since I was using IE8 when the update was applied (which probably accounted for a small freeze) a restart probably put everything in order.

I had 3, and after a reboot, or an attempt at reboot, i got an error saying "Window's Root\system32\\hal dll" is missing or corrupt, please install or repair, so a startup repair was carried out and the problem was solved.
You just gotta love Windows updates.

Well, here's an update on my situation with the updates:

I successfully installed three updates just now; they were KB973874, KB970653 and KB972036.

Today, when I opened Windows Update to see which ones were available, KB973879 was not listed. It appears in my Update History as "failed". Apparently, that is the one that was causing the problem leading to my system crashing upon restart.
