Saving Updates to install after system recovery?

Hi,

I am getting ready to do a system recovery because of a few problems I'm having. I am wondering whether there is any way to save Windows Updates to disks so they can be quickly installed from the disks once the recovery is through. I know this has been asked before, but I saved some security release ISO image files and thought I would put them on disks to upload after the recovery. There are quite a few month's of these ISO image files, as you can see here: Security updates are available on ISO-9660 DVD5 image files from the Microsoft Download Center

But then I realized that I really don't know if what I'm doing is going to work. I don't know if these files will do me any good, and if so, how I go about installing them. I do have a piece of software called Power To Go on my computer that would allow me to put the files on disks, but then what?

Is there any other way to save security updates to quickly install after a system recovery. It seems trivial, but I don't like to wait the hours necessary to have them install the usual way.

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit on a HP Compaq Presario.
