Vista - Help please!

All of the last updates I received installed correctly except one entitled:

"Update for Windows Vista (KB972036) Recommended 8/25/2009".

I have tried to install it several times and always get this message:

"X Some updates were not installed.

"Failed: 1 update Error(s) found: Code 80070570
Windows Update encountered an unknown error."

What do I do to resolve this?

I would appreciate any help that anyone can give me. However, please explain things in basic terms as I'm an older computer user with only limited technical knowledge. I tried doing a search in this forum (which I just joined) but can't decide what applies to this problem.

First, its not a critical update. Its purpose is to add a block to prevent Zune XP being upgraded to Zune 4.0 in vista. read it here Microsoft Released Bizarre Windows Vista KB972036 Update Related To Zune 4.0 – SoftSailor
So if you dont have a zune player you dont need it and you can mark it hidden so you never will be bothered with it again

Thanks Ken! I had realized it was not a critical update but wanted to stop it popping up and asking to be installed. I was about to mark it hidden as you suggested when a new Windows Defender definition update was received and successfully installed. For some reason, this apparently caused the KB972036 update to disappear. It no longer comes up when I check for updates, so I guess the problem is solved. Again, thanks for your quick reply!
