Java not working after update

Hi, I'm in a real jam, my laptop updated to Vista sp2, now my applets don't seem to work. So I can basically only view mobile web sites. I can't even get to most help pages. I've upgraded to latest version of Sun java. This is OS wide as you can see the browser not supporting the mail yahoo site and you can see the services applet not working in the extended view. The services does work in classic view and I see java.exe in my process list. Really need some help here because this is about the only site I can access properly. I can't see verfication boxes for new account creation on forums and the maps section of google maps is blank. I have no error messages in my event logs either. I actually had to send these screen dumps to my n78 then upload to photobucket from my phone. Javascript is not working it seems.I've done a virus scan, regclean, uninstalled java and reinstalled it and still does not work.Windows update went to sp2 and I think that's when Javascript stopped working, I've rolled back to restore point before update but that didn't help either. You can see that on o the services screen dump nothing shows in extended view although standard view works. Thanks for any help.
