| vista home premium x64 | Gvictim Yesterday I believe an update came when I stepped away from my pc for about 45 minutes. I had been able to use the pc up until then when the mouse and key board froze. I attempted to reboot and could not. 95 errors posted in the event log. Most these where WMI (source) and the event ID was 24. I cannot find a solution, and I am not that well knowing a lot. I can probably make the corrections if I have a solution given to me. I am running vista home premium x64, sp 2 |

| Vista Bussiness x64 PL | Re: Gvictim MS about this error Event ID 24 is logged when you install WMI SNMP Provider on a computer that is running an x64-based version of Windows Server 2003 but because you have many these kind surly you can't ignore it,MS must to mistake .So first try this: Run cmd.exe with administrative previlliges and type: winmgmt /resetrepository + restart If this command return error try another: boot into "safe mode with command prompt" (not to classic safe mode!See also Advanced Boot Options) and type: net stop winmgmt RD /S C:\Windows\System32\WBEM\Repository +restart If also second method also fail the problem may adress to missing any *.mof file in WBEM folder see for older systems IBM - Event ID 24; WinMgmt Error in the Application Event Log it would be any analogue problem (not the same) because BRCMGroup.mof which this link say never exist in Vista, neverless it would be going on about any other *.mof file .In this kind of situation use WMIDiag tool http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=enrun it and wait patiently untill appear pop-up with created logs ->attache them to post |

| vista home premium x64 | Re: Gvictim I do not have a windows disk. I purchased this Gateway pc in April and the software was loaded and they did not give me a disk. I ordered the disk today. I do have everything backed up by Carbonite and on an external drive. Yesterday when the problem started everything went okay and then froze. A WMI diagnostic tool showed me that 3 dll files were missing or corrupted. I have just downloaded them and will see what happens. I can only run in safe mode right now... |

ERROR: The following WMI system file(s) is/are missing: ............................................................. 3 ERROR(S)! 26080 17:47:56 (0) ** - C:\Windows\System32\WBEM\framedyn.dll 26081 17:47:56 (0) ** - C:\Windows\System32\WBEM\provthrd.dll 26082 17:47:56 (0) ** - C:\Windows\System32\WBEM\wbemcomn.dll Besides.Many WMI errors relate also to driver or hardware issues.I suggest update BIOS and all drivers.You can use DriverMax DriverMax - FREE driver download program for Windows XP & Vista to diagnose version of your drivers.Use also verifier tool to diagnose your drivers http://www.vistax64.com/973966-post8.html |
