Vista SP1

I am now ready to install SP1 on Vista HP 32b. What would be the best way to proceed?

You can either use windows update (slow) or download the entire sp1 from MS and install it (faster)

Re: Vista SP1

I suggest the following:

1. make sure you have the prerequisite KBs installed. Those are:
KB 935509 Bitlocker Update (Enterprise and Ultimate editions only)
KB 937287 Servicing Stack Update
KB 938371 Reliability Update

2. Download SP1 and SAVE it.

3. Unplug all devices (e.g. printer, external disk, etc.) except mouse and keyboard.

4. Install in Safe Mode - that avoids any conflicts with running processes.

5. When finished, plug devices back in.

Re: Vista SP1

You must install SP1 before you can install SP2.
